The realism of the Tentacle is only part of what sold me on this item when I first spotted it on an Adult Toys site some months back--it was a hefty, part, yes, but my inner geek was just gobsmacked by the fact that it *glows in the dark*! I'm a sucker for that sort of thing. I started saving on the spot.
I'm glad I was finally able to purchase the Tentacle from the source--this is a truly gorgeous work of art, and mine has already found a proud home on my corner shelf. I can think of very few "Adult Toys" that can be displayed openly in a mixed household, and I'm delighted that the Tentacle is one of them. It would be an absolute waste to keep such a lovely object in a drawer or box.
The images of this item do it no justice. The backsides and base gleam with slightly metallic swirls of deep violet and marine blue and dark cyan, giving it a glossy depth of texture. The glowing parts are a pearlescent sea green by normal light, but contrast vividly in the dark, the end result being a striking blend of bright green and deep blue. I'm sure individual models vary, but it looks as though every effort was made to ensure each suction cup is outlined in the glowing green. The glow is strongest at the tip and each ring gets dimmer toward the base; I can almost imagine, in the dark, that the Tentacle is truly part of a longer limb.
In use, the Tentacle has a very hefty girth--it's much thicker than my previous toys so I'll have to stock up on a water based lubricant! The silicone used in its construction is an excellent carrier of vibration--even slight movements are translated and amplified! It is firm enough for most uses, but flexible enough for teasing from multiple angles. The variation of textures between the suction-cup and smooth sides adds an interesting element.
It was worth the wait!
